In close collaboration with healthcare professionals, end users, and infection prevention specialists, the new Kelly XL has been created. The Kelly XL offers safety for the patient, ease of use for the healthcare professional, and is a highly cleanable toilet chair.
Safety & Ease of Use of the Toilet Chair
One of the unique features of the Kelly is its central braking system. This prevents situations where not all wheels are braked, which could cause the patient to fall when standing up or sitting down. MIP reports have shown that falls occur with toilet chairs because not all wheels are braked. With the central braking system, the nurse is assured that all wheels are simultaneously braked. Additionally, this is naturally more convenient for the nurse, as there is no need to brake all four wheels individually.
Hygiene
The Kelly is made entirely of stainless steel, without coating but with surface treatment. We have designed the Kelly with only round tubes to ensure optimal cleaning.
Durability
The durability of the toilet chair is remarkable. Thanks to the material choice, we are confident in the long lifespan of the frame. We intentionally decided to make the PUR parts (seat, backrest) as separate components, so they can be easily ordered after 2 to 3 years. This means new chairs don’t need to be ordered continuously; instead, seats and backrests can be replaced at a low cost. This, of course, saves hospitals significant investments.
